I haven't been to Camelback since last Christmas! Today I was catching up on paperwork, and needed to get outside to clear my head, so we headed to Echo Canyon trail around noon. The parking lot was full, so we parked at my buddy's house about a quarter mile away and jogged to the trailhead, past all the cars waiting for a spot. The crowds were in full effect today, so we had to go off trail or climb around the crowds a few times. Masks are definitely recommended on a day like this when people were crammed together at chokepoints. There was no Christmas tree at the summit! Mild disappointment, but the sun, sky, and clouds were perfect. We relaxed at the top for a while, then headed back down. The crowds seemed less dense on the way down. The parking lot was still full with a long line of vehicles waiting for spots as we headed back to my car.
