| no partners | | My first visit to Bartlett Lake. We parked at Rattlesnake Cove at 11am. Only 5 other vehicles parked there. Temp was ~85°. Started up Palo Verde Trail. Numerous colorful wildflowers in full bloom greeted us immediately. The trail was easy and very well-maintained, mostly gravel, with numerous ups and downs as we ascended and descended the hills adjacent to the lake. The views were beautiful everywhere, with the lake, the clear blue sky, the cacti, the Mazatzal mountains in the distance, and the wildflowers. Birds were singing throughout, but I didn't get any good pictures of them. We saw no other people on the trail, but there were multiple boats, kayaks, and jetskis on the water. We stopped numerous times to enjoy the views and take pictures. The trail ended at SB Cove, where there were at least 25 vehicles parked, including multiple RVs. We decided that it would be more efficient to head up to the road and jog back to make it a loop. The road was much smoother, straighter, shorter distance, and less hilly than the trail. There were many brightly colored wildflowers along the road as well. Overall a beautiful, colorful day. |
