Hike w/ kids. Wanted a short jaunt in AJ before visiting grandparents, this fit the bill and had a lot more solitude than my usual gotos from First Water area. Route was a mix of dirt road and motorbike singletrack and horse trail and wash... The desert is crisscrossed with options (and has a lot of litter) so close to a trailhead. Kids were well-behaved and sure-footed after such a long lapse since our last outing, they earned their ice cream after this one. Keyhole Arch was half-walled off and there was signs of a campfire in it... maybe someone spent a cold night huddled in there recently? Okay area, think we need to venture a few more miles in from this trailhead to get to the good stuff.
