Hiked it with my boyfriend (my butterfly expert) and we had a blast trudging through the water where we wanted to and stopping to enjoy the puddle parties of butterflies (20-50 butterflies clustered around a moist area just off of any running water or standing water). We spent most of the morning and part of the afternoon there, so I don't really know how long we spent doing the actual hike...or how far we actually went. Regardless, it was a great day and anytime in early September is a great time for butterflies, they're everywhere! |
