Wanted to check this one out for awhile, and it seemed like a good day for it - probable water, and warm enough to want to get wet. Got to the TH at about 9:30am, with a more scenic than expected drive in along Ruby Road. First creek flow started about a quarter mile in, just past the spring box.

Things really started getting good after a half mile or so, where the riparian vegetation gets thicker and the walls closer. Really enjoyed the narrow part of the canyon, and explored a couple of caves and rock formations on the side. Saw a swimming hole that looked refreshing and penciled it in for a dip on the way back...

After about 3.5 miles or so it started to dry up. We continued all the way to the border, passed a few small herds of probably-bilingual cattle. The barbed wire fence at the border was in disrepair; one can simply step over it. Just on the other side of the fence, the west slope was completely torn up by wall construction activities... not sure what their plan for the wash was, build a new wall every few years when it inevitably washes out?

Headed back, it was getting warm, but it was pleasant in the shade. This canyon was way prettier than I expected, although I probably wouldn't bother going farther than 3-4 miles in the future...
