The words Soggy Wet and Pools were spoken excitedly and dreamed of all week as we saw on the radar Nogales getting drenched day after day. Where all that water went is anybody’s guess! The “first pool” was little more than knee deep. Green waters here and there, but nothing even to dip my feet in. So we hiked a couple miles in to the side canyon, dilly dallied and enjoyed some lunch under the trees, and headed out as the temperature rose past 100. On the way out we met a local ranching family on their way for a swim and had to break the news. They would not be jumping from the “high rock”...or any rock...today. |
