| partners | | We headed a little bit east of Arizona and Texas to Cuyahoga National Park Ohio. I had been to this park before in 2016 and thought I would hit it again to hike a few of the trails in the park. On this hike we did the Ledges Trail, Ledges Overlook, Pine Grove, Kendall Lake, Salt run and the Haskel Run Trail combining them in a multiloop hike. The Ledges Trail was by far the most interesting trail with its 30 to 50 foot sandstone cliffs. This is quite different from Arizona, Woods instead of forest, Moss covered rock cliffs and water everywhere (not counting Arizona this last monsoon season). Kendall Lake was a scenic loop around a small lake with geese. The rest of the trails were just a walk through the woods but interesting because it was so different from Arizona.
This hike was a great way to break up our travels to Niagara Falls. The fall colors were just starting but not quite at peak in Ohio. I consider this more of a stroll in the woods because the trails were well manicured and you never seemed very far from civilization and people. If you find yourself in the vicinity of Columbus Ohio head south a bit to Cuyahoga National Park for some hiking. |
