| partners | | I wanted to get another hike in the Cienega Creek area before the potential rain that is coming from TS Nora. This time heading west. More water today than yesterday so it must of been raining somewhere up stream last night. We hiked down the stream about 2 miles and headed back. For once Ginny's route scout was right when it said "careful it's a jungle out there". Cienega creek was the greenest I have ever seen and this time about half the hike in was through water. When you weren't in the water it was through spongy water soaked sand. We headed back along the tracks because there was a thunderstorm just east up stream from us and didn't want to run into a flash flood. (I know you aren't suppose to walk along the tracks) We got up to the tracks just in time to greet an east bound train so we waited till it passed and then followed behind, figured we had about a half hour before the next one came along. The temperatures were in the 70's for the whole hike and got rained on for the last 20 minutes of the hike. |
