We arrived at the park at about 5 to find they closed the gates at 4, We parked outside the park and walked from there. On this hike we walked upstream along the Posta Quemada Creek until we could go no further because of private property. The creek had a light flow but it had been flowing more from the rain the day before. We returned the way we came except this time along the Arizona Trail. We finished the almost 6 mile hike at dark. Ginny saw her first Gila Monster as it was crossing the trail in front of us. Also saw a Western Patch Nose snake, the same type I saw in my back yard a week ago. It has been a good monsoon season and so far this year in Rincon Valley we have gotten 19 inches of rain. |
