| partners | | The forecast thwarted our backpacking plan for the weekend and with no great desire to spend the better part of a rainy weekend sheltered in a tent, we opted to seek out a more roomy shelter that would allow for some movement without getting soaked by the rain.
The rain clouds aligned to provide the kind of rare treat that only desert mountains can provide. The creek flashed hard, the canyon of the waterfalls kicked off the new year in style, and we did a splashy loop by foot since getting home by road wasn't gonna happen until the flow receded anyway.
