| no partners | | After such an enjoyable jaunt yesterday, I opted to spend the night and explore some more today. Repetitive hiking for exercise isn't my thing, so instead of doing the same thing as yesterday, I headed in the other direction. After a few minutes I spooked a band of coati, which is always a treat. They scattered across the canyon hopping in and out of trees and brush long enough to prevent any good photos.
There was more water today than yesterday, and less of a defined route anywhere. I went up a swampy side canyon until getting turned around after a few hundred yards of negotiating a car-sized canyon-filling boulder fall. Up the main stem was surprisingly pre-fall, with cottonwoods decked out in nearly midsummer green. Go figgur. |
