This was back in 2015. I had posted a GPS route for it, but never posted a triplog nor photos. Now a friend and I are planning to do this with a group, so I decided to go ahead and post a triplog and photos to share with her. Additionally, I posted a photo of my campsite at Squaw Lake. It is a short drive to the launch ramp for this trip.

This is the area between the historic Laguna Dam (completed in 1905) and its bigger replacement, Imperial Dam (1938). You can paddle from the launch area upstream almost to Imperial Dam, and/or you can paddle in the backwaters over to the east. I've kayaked in this waterway several times over the years. Most people don't know about it, and tend to head for Squaw Lake or Mittry Lake nearby.

On this trip I didn't go very far up into the reedy backwater area, although I actually launched over there, on the Arizona side. This was because I didn't know about the California side ramp yet. I actually found it, took a break there, and that is why there's a photo of my boat there.
