the pyramid peak hike on south mountain was featured in the january issue of arizona highways as the hike of the month, so i thought i'd try it. i got there and didn't feel like i was done, so i figured i'd keep going. on the way to pyramid, i randomly ran into a coworker who i didn't know. he was wearing a company shirt so i introduced myself to him and his son. they reached their destination and i moved on. i kinda loved that section of the national trail - hardly a soul and no bikes. the bursera trail made it so i went uphill both ways but i liked it. a great day to be on the trails.
