Squeezed in a hike with Celina. She’s still recovering from a broken wrist, so we needed something that wouldn’t involve the use of hands. That, plus the heat, slowed her down quite a bit from her usual pace. Up Corona East, down Corona. She saw her first ever rattler, a large Speckled, while hiking. It’s been a few years now, so she was due, and is now over the anxiety of seeing one. Warm, saw very few people. Looks like some trail work has been done on Corona East.

In an unrelated but funny story, my son (who is doing school online this year) should have been eating his lunch when I got home, but was nowhere to be found, although his lunch was still on the counter. He thought I was going to be gone all day, so when he heard the garage door open, ran upstairs to hide in his room. I looked for him downstairs, then headed upstairs and when I tried his door, it was locked. I easily popped the lock, and when I opened his door, he attacked me with some sword thing, thinking I was an intruder

. No injuries, but lots of laughing on my part, and he cried a little from being scared. At least I know he won’t take crap from an intruder.
