Route Scout Route Recorded  on Route Scout Popup | MapDEX
Went clockwise for a change. Corona is kind of chewed up from the rain. Not that it was ever great, but feels a little worse right now. Coming down Corona East didn’t seem too bad despite all the loose rock. Deviated off the trail about 2/3 of the way down and went over the saddle to the drainage north of the ridge. Faint use trail most of the way down to the wash. Lots and lots of animal evidence in this wash. Headed down the drainage not knowing what to expect, just making sure I didn’t slide down any granite that I couldn’t get back up in case I had to backtrack. It was actually pretty fun, like solving a puzzle, with thorny vegetation adding a little extra challenge. Not sure my route was always the best option, but I lived. Near the bottom of the drainage, I noticed a cairned route leading south up the slope. No time to explore that today, but will get back there soon to see where that leads up to. Got back on Desert Classic near the water tank by Equestrian and took that back to Warpaint. Very hazy/dusty skies, couldn’t see any other mountains in any direction today besides the faint outline of Camelback. Great temps though.
