Started from the Fish Hatchery with a less than stellar forecast. We knew there was going to be rain just not how much. The morning was no issue so the hike up to the rim uneventful. Made the lake and found good spot for lunch. During lunch it started to cloud up.

The clouds moved in fast and after circling the lake we went off trail to make it back to the trail. That's when it started to rain hard with lots of thunder and lightning. Once back on trail the rain started to let up. Water was running is places it hadn't one the way up so that was interesting to see. Dropping off the rim the clouds made for nice view and managed to make the car before the next big rain shower arrived.
