| no partners | | I wanted to check out the fall color on Beaver Turkey Ridge, so I did a CCW loop that started and ended at the Fish Hatchery TH.
There was some fall color in the Beaver Turkey Ridge WQA, but I'd say that it is largely past prime. I did not see any red maple leaves left -- normally there is a lot in this area.
There is a little bit of color around Horton Spring, and it should get better over the next few days. I am wondering if See Canyon would be nice now.
Going forward, I would think that fall foliage will be better down below the rim as opposed to being up on the rim. |

Autumn Foliage Observation Light In the Beaver Turkey Ridge WQA, the big tooth reds were gone. There were some nice aspens, some showy maples with yellow leaves, and even some oaks that looked good with sunlight on them. The maples that are left will be gone soon, but there are still aspens with green leaves on them in some places, so these might look good over the next few days. |
