Barnhardt is in great shape per usual and water was gushing out of every drainage and pathway capable of carrying water. One of the heavier flows in the canyon, I have seen. The portion from the last falls to the divide was in pretty good shape and a little extra scenic with the winter snowpack still lingering above and the running water. From the divide to the north fork of Deadman there seemed to be a constant stream of flowing water on the trail and I gave up on dry feet. The falls had a pretty heavy flow and were as impressive as I had remembered. I spent some time picking my way along the rim to get a few pics and then returned the way I came. The scenery was as stunning as it was on the way in and the trail as wet. An excellent day to tick off some miles in the Mazzies. |
