| no partners | | Knowing that there were some trails going all around this mountain, I decided to explore those today. I never expected the route to be over 4 miles, but it was. And it turns out that the total AEG is similar to hiking to the summit although the entire time I stayed at a relatively low elevation. There are excellent views of the ocean. It can get quite hot in May which is why I started this hike at 5:30 pm and finished before 7:30 pm, just before dark. If you are not interested in going to the summit, this is a great scenic hike that is mostly trail, and some sandy roads. The sand was packed down and not too deep in any area of this route. There are a few short loops near the North end of the route that are optional. The most enjoyable part of this route for me, was the edge that went along the ocean.
