two night trip with john and bruce to petrified forest
we arrived in the park mid afternoon
got our backpacking permit and had a couple hours to do some short hikes before we were supposed to depart from kachina point:
blue mesa trail, puerco pueblo, desert rim trail
hiked down from kachina point to the required mile away and dropped our backpacks
continued to onyx bridge and returned to set up camp
had some dinner and enjoyed the solitude
a few showers in the area, but we just got a few sprinkles
an almost full moon provided plenty of light
