counterclockwise. Going up that first hill it seemed really hot and I gave thot to turning around in a short bit but I persevered and made it to the top. There was just a tad of a breeze that helped my motivation.

I emailed Ambika back while on top as I was one of the few to get a backpacking permit at Glacier Park for mid-July (3 nites) and she wants to come. Glacier Park didn't start filling permits until mid-April even though we all applied March 15th; a new procedure. This makes it very hard to plan when you have to delay your plans a month so hopefully they'll go back to the old system because now we have to try and find lodging and tickets for the GTTSR.

Nothing new to report on the trail. I did see a few hummingbirds on that steep paved section. It's usually where I see them. Going down that part is pretty hard on the knees. I went up and looped the far western tower before heading down and around the west side. Hikers were scattered the entire length of the trail coming and going; altho this is the second time I've passed someone.

Going down that south and east side is still slippery so you have to pay attention. I was glad to be over on the east side as it seemed warm. When I headed east a breeze started to hit me in the face which was quite refreshing. I tripped hard a couple times but stayed upright :) . I can still feel that plate in my wrist 15 1/2 months later. I assume that is not going to change so I just have to live with it.

Started my beer slightly before 9:30 but close enough; after all, it does have fruit. Both of the Q-Trip frozen cappuccino machines were broken :(

WATCH: 5.16 miles (almost the same as RS), low point 1369/high point 2151, bpm are MIA :-k but I burned 612 calories and god knows how much sweat. Starting temp 69.8 and sunny with 28% humidity finishing at 9:19AM

Palo Verde blooms are waning but the bees are still buzzing about.
Some Lavender by the steep paved hill.

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.
