| no partners | | not a good start as I saw a hobbling coyote walk across the trail cuz now I'll think of that off and on for awhile. And then a somewhat older gimpy hiker; I was hoping this would not be the trend for the day. But I did see a couple hummingbirds and am continuing the bunny trend with one spotted today.
Did the loop counterclockwise, a little warm to start but once I got past that first hill and a little higher the breeze kicked in. People seemed grumpy today so it made me grumpy and I'm already depressed with all that's going on around us. So I just said hello to those who said it first, about 50% today.
An SRP truck passed me on its way to the towers. As I got close to the towers I could see the smoky sky to the east that was wrapping itself around to the north. After I circled the towers I took some pictures. I was going to by-pass the western towers as it seemed warm but I did them anyway. Oh, an unusual sighting for me on this trail in the AM: two spots of shade including on the western side as you hike south to the former restaurant area.
A lot of hikers were out, surprisingly only one biker. This is the latest I've ever done a city hike in the Valley but I don't look forward to that 5:30 wake-up beeping from Alexa . Temp stayed at 79 and I think the humidity was in the 22% area. |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
