Drove up early Friday morning. Arrived at the pass to 26 degrees and breezy. Hwy had medium to large ice patches. Light snow at 3500 ft and increased over 4000 ft to 3 inches snow at 4500 ft. with more snow to follow the next morning. Melted snow to check water content. Found 5 inches of snow melted to 1 inch of water in my just for fun unscientific experiment. Walked briefly into the nothingness but too cold to go far. Fog rolled in as the morning progressed.
