Decided to beat myself up a bit today and went over Estrella Mountain Regional Park and do some of the hard trails the hard way. Parked at the rodeo grounds and started southbound on Rainbow Valley. Climbed the rocky never ending hill after the Dysart turnoff and did better than I expected

Then down the other side to Toothaker and started the grind up the steep rocky gravely trail. Never thought I'd make that saddle to the every pleasing descent past Pedersen to Gadsden. Except for a couple of deep sandy wash crossings on Gadsden, the rest of the loop is pleasant enough. Saw one jogger on Rainbow Valley and a mountain biker coming down Flycatcher who I followed a bit until he turned off on Desert Rose.
