After lurking on the HAZ website for over 15 years, I decided it was time to start contributing more than money. So here is my first triplog. I can hear a Chumley laughing in my head now as I write this.

We decided to hit this trail up as an alternative to the Miles Ranch Trail head, which has gotten a lot of attention lately. We are always looking for places that haven’t been ruined by Instagram influencers and that have water and areas for the dogs to run and be dogs.

The road in wasn’t bad but need HC near the end. Some really nice colors just starting. Weather was perfect and I had counted on not seeing anyone and we didn’t.

Had a fly over when we were walking in the canyon and it was pretty cool. Creek started running about 0.4 mi below the spring and that was really great for the dogs. Went up wildcat canyon a ways past oak spring which had a puddle and a little further. Had the old guy Blazer with us and his max is 6 miles so we stopped under some yellow sycamore for lunch and turned around

Weather was perfect and it ended up being a really quiet low key day to be in the eastern superstitions. So happy to be back in this area.
