| no partners | | Drove out east yesterday (surprise, surprise) to the Horrell TH to hike Cuff Button. Had my son hiking with me for the first time in over a year and I wanted to show him the old corral. Stopped for a quick break there and decided to head up to the ridge to check out the views. Trail is in great shape from the TH to the corral with no burn, however, after the corral everything is burnt crisp. Slow going heading up with a bit of route finding needed. There was a light dusting of snow on top of the ridge and winds were blowing pretty good which made it pretty cold. Looking across Sawtooth Ridge had a bit of snow as well. Came back down off the ridge, had lunch and headed back out. My hiking season in the Superstition's does not have much time left before the heat comes, trying to get out as much as I can last couple of weeks. |
