Had a sick day to use or lose so used it and decided to head out east to the Cuff Button TH. The road is in 'decent' shape but a high clearance 4wd is definately still needed. Parked in the pokey stuff and headed down the Cuff Button trail. With the erosion from the Woodbury Fire the past couple years the old road is washed out or overgrown in several spots. Most of the time it's safer to stay in the creek bed. About halfway to the corral, I was taking a break in the canyon, when it started to rumble. A couple seconds later an F-16 went flying by at a good clip directly over the canyon about 500 feet above it. It was so freaking loud but dam it was awesome! Went by so fast I didn't have time to get my camera out. Made it up to the old Cuff Button Corral, spent some time relaxing under a good size pine and started back. Had a White Tailed Deer stomp and blow at me about a mile and a half down. She took off down the creek and kept blowing at me the entire time. lol. Then had another one do it about a quater mile from the truck, it's hunting season so maybe they are just pissed off? lol. Temps in the upper 40's at the start and upper 60's with a nice breeze when I finished up. This area of the Superstitions is so remote, so no surprise that I did not see anyone the entire day, just the way I like it.
