Most of this area was spared from the fire, however, the creek is a bit washed out in places from flooding but nothing horrible, the trail is still pretty easy to follow. Water was everywhere flowing down the creek. This hike is still as beautiful as I remember with some awesome multiple color rock faces. Had a quick lunch near the corral and then took a catclaw trek to get to the corral. Fields and fields of it everywhere which left it's mark. I was out here last April and while there was a lot of it you could still walk around the corral. Not anymore! The fire finally showed it's ugly head about 200 yards from the corral and burned back all the way up and over Pinto Peak. A nice 7 mile stroll in a remote and pretty unknown part of the Superstitions. |
