Short hike along the Arizona Trail between Pistol Hill Road and X9 Road. This is a portion Ginny had not done before, nothing too exciting about it though. Stormy weather made for some nice scenery, didn't get rained on though. Trail is in good condition and made for easy walking with a 2.5 MPH pace. Saw one through hiker along this stretch. Asked her about the new section of AZ trail in Gardner Canyon area, she wasn't sure what her plans were. I imagine this puts a kink in their plans if they are planning on restocking in Patagonia. Will have to do a side trip or take the old trail. We didn't see it but the through hiker warned us of a small rattle snake along the trail, didn't rattle but very aggressive, probably the cool weather or long dry spell here made it cranky. Water was stashed at the X9 road for hikers who needed it.
