| partners | | After our Pine Tree Loop Trail we headed back to the west side of the Organ Mountains and visited Dripping Spring park in Organ Mountain Monument. This is the same park as the Pine Tree Loop Trail so our 5 dollar day pass worked here. We did not have a lot of time to spend here so we just hiked to Hermit Cave on the La Cueva Trail. This is a 1.3 mile round trip hike to a "cave" under a large Rhyolite rock. In the mid 1800's a hermit lived in this cave and hence the name. Easy walking Trail with a little climb along some Rhyolite, reminded me of hiking in the Goldfield mountains. We will have to make another trip here because there are a few more trails here worth doing. |
