| no partners | | | I've been eyeing up hiking Scarlett Canyon for years now. My friend Tricia just bought a house up Cave Creek road a bit, so we decided to check out a local (to her) hike. Parked at the west end of Rose Garden (from Cave Creek road) and headed straight up the hill to the ridgeline. The trail up is plenty bouldery which makes for a fun climb. Great views from the summit and tons of planes flying overhead from nearby Deer Valley Airport. Came down an easy to follow trail on the northwest side. Trail continues south just behind some homes for a bit. Continued south and then east around the hill on a nice flat trail back to the van. Saw one other hiker. Parking for maybe 5 or 6 vehicles on the loop. There was 1 car there when we departed, and a different car when we returned. |
