A short follow up hike to see if the turtle crawled off from under the bush. The turtle was gone so he must have been ok. No one at the trailhead and no one on trail. The morning was nice around 74 degrees and shaded. I didn't hike long enough for it to warm up just a little way past Garden Valley and back. I saw a little monster on the drive out so I stopped to take some photos. Seems late in the year for gila monsters but this was a young one not much bigger than a collared lizard.
