The plan was to leave early but I heard the thunder and delayed a few hours. The rain had stopped and no lightning was seen so I sped off to the Meridian trailhead. There were several cars in the lot so the plan changed to hike east and avoid the herd. I only saw one other hiker and got to see a desert tortoise. The temps were good with nice cloud cover but the humidity

was high. Great morning for a hike.
