| partners | | | I wanted to get a hike today, but after refereeing three tackle football games in the heat yesterday, I was looking for something on the smaller side. Andy suggested a couple of different options in the Goldfields so off we went. It was already warm when we got to the Willow Springs TH before sunrise. Headed up the ridge and down to the wash to the base of Checkmate Arch. It was already getting hot by then and I was still pretty sore from the day before, so I chose to stay in the wash as Andy hiked up to the Arch. Hiked the road out back to the TH. Got back to the truck and it was already 93 degrees. Nice little couple-mile hike in the Goldfields to get the legs moving again. This heat wave needs to go away, way too hot for October. |
