Got to the Peralta TH before the sun came up. Started up Cardiac Hill to a chilly but humid start as it rained the night before. A little past Bluff Spring I ran into the first rain shower, just enough to get everything wet, then the sun came out and heated things up only to have it rain again shortly thereafter. It repeated this cycle numerous times on the hike-in. I stopped at La Barge Spring where I ran into a group of guys who had camped the night before. They told me a pretty nice thunderstorm came through around 1 am, we need the rain so that was good to hear. Checked out La Barge Spring, which is a mess, and continued on. My original plan was to hike out to Charlebois and then up to the top of Peter's Mesa to finish a section there, but the humidity was thick from the mix of rain and sun so I got to Music Canyon, took cover under the Oaks in the creek while another rain shower came through and started back. Just past the Red Tanks junction, a heavy rain shower came and being up on the ridge above the creek, there was nowhere to hide so I got a good soaking. After that, the sun came out the rest of the hike back and cranked the humidity up even more. Other than that, pretty uneventful hike out. Once I got back to Peralta TH, the masses were out heading up Peralta Canyon. Only saw a couple of people out on the trail and a couple of deer. Despite the rain and humidty, it's always good to be out hiking in the Supes.
