As with other hikes in the Blue Mountains, the trailhead is on the rim of a canyon and the hike begins with a steep descent and overlooks into the rain forested canyon before dropping below the canopy and down to Victoria Creek which rumbles down a beautiful cascade with into a nice swimming hole, and then a bit further on to a dramatic overhanging waterfall.
Both the cascade and the falls were much more impressive in person than my review of photos led me to expect.
Even though it was "winter" in Australia, I opted for a polar bear dip in the pool below the cascades. It was definitely crisp!
Pools/falls enjoyed, we reversed the steep climb up and out via a seemingly endless set of well constructed stair steps. |
