Very little water in White Horse Lake made the hike around the lake substantially shorter than usual when walking the shoreline instead of the actual trail. It was weird to see all the cracked mudflats and exposed stumps.

We saw a few very cute tiny thin snakes moseying in and out of the ruts in the mud flats. The kids nicknamed them "danger noodles"

Also, the night before we saw a beautiful large spider that really blended in with the surrounding pine needles.
