| no partners | | Nice hike to the Sycamore canyon overlook and also around white Horse Lake from the campground. The water level of white Horse Lake is super low. I've never seen it so low on all my years of going there.
Nothing new to report on the overlook trail. No horses or cows in the meadow area after going through the 2 gates. Things are starting to slowly grow back from the burn near the overlook, but still lots of burned tree skeletons around. Trail is easy to follow, and only a few downed trees on the trail.
There is a big fort structure someone constructed on the way to the canyon overlook junction.
No drinking water at the white Horse Lake Campground, so that was a surprise. I should have checked the website. The water processing is down. The camphost said the maintaining entity is new this year. No kayaks to rent like usual, (maybe because very little water) and also no food truck that used to be there on weekends in season. |
