| no partners | | We got mudded out on the way to Peeley, and Deer Creek was nearly boring us to death, so we turned around and tried the ruins in Gisela along with a potential waterfall. The Tonto nearly had other plans for us, but we got across with a little effort.
The waterfall in Cocomunga was not flowing and I took us up the wrong hill to start off, due to having not read the description page and just trying to wing it. But we got on track shortly after that. Luckily, the wrong hill led to uncovering what was most likely the habitation site related to the hilltop enclosure and main attraction. Although, I found the “wrong” site more interesting to walk through due to the abundance of surface artifacts vs the sterile nature of the most likely ceremonial enclosure.
The dogs had a blast and the temps were perfect. A thick cloud hung over us and most of the valley for the entire hike. We started to get a light drizzle on the hike out and it was sprinkling a little more consistently on the drive out. I would say the river was probably running just about as fast as one would want to ford on foot. |
