We hiked from the trailhead to a nice stretch of young aspen that I wanted to show Brenda and then turned around to hike back and do some trail maintenance. In general, the Steeple Trail is in excellent condition, however, some locust is creeping back in its usual spots and I had carried some clippers. It is really green out there and the forest looks a lot better than it did in June. Yet, there was no water where the trail crosses the upper reaches of Grant Creek and in the past water there is a sign of a pretty robust monsoon season.
