| partners | | I met up with Linda at 0635. It was supposed to be 0630 sharp, but Linda was delayed 5 minutes, slapping some dweeb around at the park entry. I don’t know if Linda’s mellowing, or getting more efficient, but these altercations used to take 10 minutes. Either way, 50% quicker is progress.
The hike itself was very pleasant, but uneventful. The weather could have been slightly better – either a few degrees cooler, or a light breeze would have been about perfect. When we scheduled this hike, that was the expectation. Anyway, after a brutal summer, this was more than acceptable.
Things have changed since my last trip here. The grass has thinned to a point that the ground is visible for the first time in my experiences. I saw only one small seep, over a boulder, downstream of the spring – it’s really dry out there. The air was pretty hazy, so the normally awesome views were somewhat obscured.
It was definitely a worthwhile use of the day. Great to see Linda again,. Thanks for driving down for such a short hike. |
