Followed the wash for a bit to detour to another nearby geocache, then climbed out of it and started following FR 1333 again. The road is pretty smooth and I probably could've driven in for a mile before it got too rough. Probably about 1.5 miles in the road starts deteriorating and being littered with rocks. Definitely requires something with a short wheel base and 4wd if you want to make it up here. Continued up till I reached the pass, then headed up the mountain. Lots of those black lava rocks to navigate, but soon I was at the summit. Found both the geocache (a metal container with logbook), and the summit log (a plastic Gatorade bottle with a log inside). The summit log has logs going back to 2007. Headed back down and accidently spooked some cows hanging out near the pass. They ended up in front of me on the way down FR 1333 and were in front of me for about .75 miles before there was enough room on the side for them to scurry away. Saw some people metal detecting in the creek below the road. enjoyable hike in all.
