| no partners | | Early morning hike at Skyline Regional Park. Got to the TH around 6am. They were already working on their parking lot extension. Kind of surprised that they are making more parking. I seldom see the extending parking that they already have utilized…though I am usually in and out pretty early.
Did a loop that I had just done a few months ago. In on the Mountain Wash, up Lost Creek and then across the Skyline Crest to the Crest Summit. Not a huge fan on the Mountain Wash or the Lost Creek, but they are easy to hike in the dark. I do enjoy Skyline Crest Trail. Nice use of the ridgelne. After taking some pics from the peak, I headed back along the Quartz Trail.
Beautiful day for a hike. Temps in the 60’s. A bit breezy at times, but it felt nice. Some great colors with the morning sunrise. Surprised at how quickly those colors disappeared. No wildlife. Encountered 2 hikers on the Quartz. |
