Nice hike with the kids. From the main parking area, we headed east on Quartz Mine, then north on Skyline Crest with a side trip to Crest Summit. At the north end of Skyline Crest, we went west on Lost Creek, then west on Mountain Wash. up Turnbuckle to Valley Vista. Came back down the east side of Turnbuckle to get back to the trailhead. Easy hiking for the kids, and most of the trails we covered are in good condition. One kid complained a little due to being cold, despite two earlier warnings from me to wear warmer pants. Nobody froze to death. I promised them that this would be the last hike they’d have to do this year, but I don’t think they realize January is only two days away.
