| no partners | | If you get an early enough start, your boots won't get muddy from the melting snow. I started early enough to have clean boots when I reached the rim, but it had started melting as I hiked down, and my boots are a mess.
I heard a bird but couldn't see it, so I used my Merlin app to identify it. It was a Juniper Titmouse. This bird probably isn't one of those slated for a name change. I am sure @chumley will appreciate this information.
I saw four other hikers. This trail is locally popular. It's a good short workout with great views, and is a 4 minute drive from my current dwelling.
Escudilla looks splendid in snow. There's one spot on the way up to get a great view of it. |
