| partners | | Having never hiked Granite Mountain before when 9L suggested it I was very interested. The weather was generally nice for the hike but the wind really picked up in the afternoon. And when we were on the Granite summit the winds were unfortuantely blasting. Still a nice summit with great views all around and we found some wind shelter to enjoy a lunch/snack.
After the summit we made our way back down the same route which is a boulder scramble in sections to get back on the main trail. Once on main trail we followed that to the Little Granite Mountain Loop trail and followed that around the 5 or so miles back to the original trail.
As Chumley mentioned before we reached the original trail we hiked the Clark Spring Trail which was great trail with no fire damaged forest. We took our last break on the section of trail which was fantastic! Great hike all around and finally got to hike Granite Mountain. |
