There are rappel anchors on the summit and just off of it, in case you would rather not down climb. | On a hot morning in late August, I set out to do what I was unable to do in late April: summit Morning Glory Spire. This time, knowing the route made the approach much faster. I flew up the first pitch that turned me around in the spring, and was going strong to the hardest part. Unsure if the most difficult section was the way to go, I rested in the shade to cool off before looking around for an alternative. I realized that the chimney was the best way, and I climbed up it with greater ease than expected. Shortly there after I was on top. It only took me 90 minutes to summit, but that was going slow due to heat and resting in the shade for a while. Going down was even faster, only 50 minutes from summit to car. This is a great little summit. I'll be back. |
