Buster Mountain has been mocking me ever since I moved to Oro Valley. I realized that I had no idea what I was waiting for and decided to climb it on a windy, cool afternoon. I've been scratching around in the desert here and figured I had found the route up. I wasn't surprised by the route, rather the beauty of the surroundings. The scenery all along is just magnificent and it just keeps getting better and better...bordering on the absurd.

Typical desert peak growth will keep you bleeding. I stood up from a little climb full blast into a cholla that unloaded into my shoulder...but after my full on header into the largest prickly pear in Arizona 2 weeks ago, I just picked out the thorns and laughed in it's face. I literally mocked the shindaggers on the way up...please.

i'll be back for this peak again and again.
