I do a fair number of these type of hikes that I don't record on HAZ because they destroy my fpm stats, and really, what do I have to say? I figured I would post some photos, in case anyone was interested.

I walked around out near Quaker Bridge. Visited Lower Forge, then took the Batona back to the roads and a sand road to the Penn Branch. Returned on P.B. and road. Lots of pee wees and house wrens heard, as well as night hawks in the open area. Humidity returned for this. It seemed to come up right as I left the house.

Busy around 3 near the bridge, deserted when I drove back. Weekend was over, I guess. Mostly boaters, I think.

Ended up with a faster mph than I would have thought as the sand slows you down. Plus, it was hot with that humidity and the sun. Not a lot of sun at the gap in the very leafy forest.

I think I had a deer tick on me, not sure where I picked it up as I saw it at home down on my ankle. It is possible I got it on the Penn Branch in the grass, or along the road in the grasses when I stepped off. It really is best to stay on the roads completely.
