| no partners | | Today I did one of several loop options for this hike. I took the Mesquite Hollow Trail on the way out and once I got to the boundary with the MMRP I continued on to the Dixie Mine Trail. I then turned around and went on the Lower Sonoran Trail to get back to the TH.
I spent a good bit of time trying out a potential solution to a problem that I have been having with map rotation. I think that the problem is in the android setting for "Improve Location Accuracy". I have had it on but turned it off for today. If the setting is on, it will use wifi, mobile networks, and sensors to help determine location. If turned off, it will use only GPS to determine location. I turned it off and map rotation seemed to work as it should, in RS as well as gaia and alltrails. I am cautiously optimistic that this will prove to be the solution to my problem. Now when I turn on RS it implores me to turn on "improve location accuracy", but I am not taking the bait. |
